April Jasper, OD, FAAO is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She trained at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and completed a VA residency program in Boston, during which she received specialized training in primary care, contact lenses, and ocular disease. She returned to her home town of West Palm Beach in 2002 where she established her private primary care practice, Advanced Eyecare Specialists. Dr. Jasper immediately connected with organized optometry and has served many leadership roles with the Board of Trustees of the Florida Optometric Association, the Executive Committee of the AOA Third Party Center and the National Advisory Committee of Vision Source. She has a faculty appointment as the Benedict Professor of Practice Management at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She and her husband, David, have two children.

 

Harvey Richman, OD, FAAO, FCOVD is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry where his education emphasized the evaluation of children with behavioral and perceptual difficulties. After several years of pediatric practice and research, Dr. Richman achieved the credentials of Fellow of the College of Optometrist in Vision Development. This was immediately followed by earning the credentials of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In 2011, Dr. Richman became one of the first Diplomates of the American Board of Optometry. His dedication to helping the visual welfare of children and the needy rewarded him with the 1997 Young Optometrist of the Year in New Jersey. In 1999 he also received the NJSOP's Special Recognition Award for his work with the Visually impaired children. Additional awards include Optometrist of the Year (2007) and the E.C. Nurock Award (2015). Dr. Richman was president of the NJSOP from 2008-2009. He was asked to join the American Optometric Association's Third Party Executive Committee to work on the Coding Committee due to his work for the state of NJ. He has lectured nationally on billing and coding, electronic records, and PQRS. Dr. Richman has published work on Coding for Vision Therapy and Vision Rehabilitation for the AOA and COVD.

 

Rebecca Wartman, OD is originally from Kingsport, Tennessee. She did her undergraduate work at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee and graduated from The University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Optometry in 1987. She currently practices in Fairview, NC. Dr. Wartman is Past-president of the North Carolina State Optometric Association. She currently serves as Chair of the NCSOS Third Party Committee, AOA Third Party Center, and AOA TPC Coding Expert Panel member. She frequently writes and lectures on insurance and coding issues. In addition, she has served on the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund Commission and is currently Alternate CPT Advisor for the AOA. For the past decade Dr. Wartman has been the AOA's lead educator on PQRS, Value-based medicine, and ICD-10 adoption.

 

Mr. Edward Michleski is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ where he majored in Industrial Management Technology. He was an NJIT Estrin Scholarship recipient. He is currently employed with Merchants Insurance Group as a Loss Control Representative. his primary responsibilities are property and casualty coverage for commercial clients, retail/mercantile shops, office complexes, medical facilities, manufacturing/warehousing, trade, contractors, fleet & worker's comp accounts, operational and hazard evaluations which include claims prevention recommendations and property appraisals.

Mr. William Wolfe is a graduate of St. Peter's University, Jersey City, NJ where he received a degree in business management. he is currently employed with Merchant's Insurance Group as a Regional Claims Manager where he is responsible for the claims results of a $40 million regional office for all lines of business.

James Mielo, RPh is a graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ where he received his degree in Pharmacy. He is a registered pharmacist in the state of New Jersey as well as Administrator of the Prescription Monitoring Program -- NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, Drug Control Unit.
