Speaker: Ada Noh, OD

The intersection of eye care and aesthetics is rapidly evolving, creating new opportunities for optometrists to expand services, enhance patient satisfaction, and diversify practice revenue. This course explores the integration of aesthetic technologies—such as intense pulsed light (IPL), radiofrequency, lid margin debridement, and skin health modalities—into the optometric setting. Attendees will gain a foundational understanding of how these treatments complement ocular surface disease management, particularly dry eye and blepharitis, while also addressing the cosmetic concerns many patients bring to the exam chair. Practical considerations including clinical applications, patient selection, safety, staff training, and practice implementation strategies will be discussed. By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge to evaluate whether aesthetic technologies align with their clinical goals and business model, and how to introduce them seamlessly into everyday practice.

Speaker: Ada Noh, OD
2 hrs. NJSBO TPA Credit PENDING/ 2 hrs. CE Broker Credit PENDING
Not every irritated eye is Dry Eye Disease (DED). When traditional therapies do not work, perhaps it isn’t DED. This course will review common etiologies of irritated/dry eyes, that are often mistaken for DED. It will include the identification/diagnosis and proper treatment for these conditions. This lecture will include commonly mistaken diseases like corneal dystrophies, lid disorders, corneal nerve disorders, and conjunctivochalasis. The goal is to lead to excellent patient symptom outcomes.
