Meet the Speakers 

Peter J. Cass, OD
Dr. Cass is a Founder of Practice Performance Partners, and former Vice President of Practice Compliance Solutions. He is also Chairman of the Board of EDO labs in Dallas, a doctor owned lab manufacturing and wholesaling digital lenses to private practice optometrists. He is a Past President of the Texas Optometric Association serving on their third party, legal and legislative, finance committees, and as a key contact for several state representatives. He has also been a clinical researcher for Alcon, currently is Adjunct Faculty for UCHO, where he teaches practice management to third-year students, and is an auditor for Medicaid. He still practices part time with MyEyeDr. in Beaumont, TX and is a nationally recognized speaker on topics of billing, coding, compliance, practice management, and anterior segment disease.

Joe DeLoach, OD, FAAO
Before becoming an eyecare practice and industry consultant, Dr. DeLoach spent most of his optometric career in the management of ocular disease, especially retinal disease and glaucoma. He spent twenty years as Medical Director of one of the nation’s largest optometric referral centers, EyeCare and Surgery Center of North Texas.  As a former Clinical Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry, he served as Director of the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic and Community Eye Clinic, inner-city charity clinics that provide treatment of retinal disease and glaucoma for over fifteen thousand patients a year. Dr. DeLoach has lectured extensively across the country, mainly in the management of glaucoma and retina disease, medical reimbursement and healthcare compliance. He served as Coursemaster of the Texas Professional Ethics Courses for 14 years. In 2010, Dr. DeLoach co-founded Practice Compliance Solutions, a nationally recognized healthcare practice management company.  In 2025, Practice Compliance Solutions merged with EyeCode Education and CodeSAGEPLUS to form Practice Performance Partners where Dr. DeLoach serves as a partner and Chief Compliance Officer. 

Hanish Patel, OD, FAAO
As a founding partner of Eye Associates of New York and the Center for Ophthalmic and Vision Research, Dr. Patel is a trusted optometrist in the Midtown East, New York City area. After earning his undergraduate degree from Aston University in Birmingham, United Kingdom, Dr. Patel relocated to New York for graduate school. He earned his doctor of optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. Dr. Patel went on to complete a residency specializing in ocular disease through SUNY and Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center. During his residency, Dr. Patel received extensive training alongside prominent optometrists and ophthalmologists focusing on primary care, specialty contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management, and glaucoma and retinal disease care. He served as an investigator for over 75 contact lens-related studies.
