Committees and Centers - Meetings

Members are encouraged to attend committee meetings to gain a deeper understanding of the NJSOP, network with fellow professionals, and contribute valuable insights and recommendations for the Board's decisions. It's an excellent opportunity to get involved and shape the future of the Society.

Committee Members Only Information

Member Recruitment & Benefits Center (MRBC)

Evaluate and recommend endorsed member professional development programs and services of the highest quality for the members, as well as, public information for New Jersey’s citizens. Develop and implement an effective membership retention and recruitment program.

Clinical Care Center (CCC)

Oversees all NJSOP in-person and virtual continuing education events and the online continuing education library. Works to develop clinical standards and skills for New Jersey’s optometric physicians.

Third Party Center (TPC)

Assures that optometric physicians have the opportunity on a non-discriminatory basis to become a participating provider in managed care organizations, third party plans, and other health care delivery systems. Members can submit a Third Party Center Report for review. The NJSOP Third Party Center guidance is not intended to replace legal or other expert advice for your specific issue. When sharing information with NJSOP, use appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of protected health information.

Legislative Committee (LC)

Protect and expand your opportunity to practice optometry at the highest level through political involvement in the legislative process.

Industry Relations Committee

Works with industry partners to better educate optometric physicians regarding their products and services and oversees the NJSOP partnership program. While they do not meet on a regular basis, they are always looking for help!
